The IIHF Championship Disciplinary Panel for the 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey World U20 Championship IIA has issued a one-game suspension to Romania’s Luca Moise for kneeing.
The incident occurred at 38:08 of the second period in Game #9 of the tournament between Romania and Spain.
Moise attempted to make a body check on Spain’s Jorge Mazon, who was in possession of the puck and breaking out of the zone. However, Moise made no upper-body contact, and the force of the contact went through Mazon’s lower body when Moise extended his right knee, leading to an avoidable, dangerous knee-on-knee contact.
This constitutes a violation of Official Playing Rule 50 – Kneeing.
The 2026 IIHF Championship Disciplinary Panel has determined that Moise will receive a one (1) game suspension, in accordance with IIHF Disciplinary Regulations, Article 10.5.
Moise will serve his suspension in Game #12, Great Britain vs. Romania, on Jan. 8, 2026.
