Update on 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship

With the conclusion of the preliminary round of the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship, a total of 9,629 tests have been conducted on all players, staff, and game officials.

The IIHF would like to share the following updates:

-There are no new positive cases among the ten participating teams

-From the tests conducted on game officials as well as IIHF, Local Organizing Committee, and broadcast personnel, there have been no positive cases reported

-The teams leaving the 2021 World Juniors prior to the conclusion of the tournament will remain within the competition bubble until their time of departure

-Any further additional testing will be conducted as necessary to meet the requirements of the government and health authorities of the returning countries

All team staff and players as well as all on- and off-ice officials will continue to receive daily testing throughout the tournament. The Event Executive Committee has been receiving regular updates via the Event Medical Committee and will continue to review the testing results.
