Lo and behold, it’s time for the very first Olympic men’s ice hockey Power Rankings! These elite Power Rankings only come around once every four years. Starting out on top, the ROC team is aiming to maintain a golden tradition. But the Finns and Canadians, who have squared off in the last two IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship finals, are hot on their heels. Let’s get this Beijing party started!
ROC Some guys prefer Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy
FIN There’s no “I” in “team” – there’s “final” in “Finland”
CAN Gretzky couldn’t make this team, but the man is 61
SWE Let’s dream big and win a quarter-final!
CZE Fun fact: people born in 1998 are turning 24
USA Can Tom Brady skate?
GER We can bring home silver again if we steal some forks
SUI Free chocolate for all Group B teams!
SVK Um...we’re actually usually eleventh?
