Ukraine finished its Division IB campaign with a comfortable victory over Estonia. A dominant 8-0 verdict earned bronze for Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team.

Estonia picked up its first victory of its Division IB campaign in Tychy, downing Serbia 4-2.

Japan picked up its second win of its Division IB campaign, but was pushed all the way by Estonia. The Japanese let a 4-1 lead slip as Robert Rooba’s hat-trick helped to tie the scores at 5-5. However, Yushitoh Hirami scored twice in the third period to give Japan a 7-5 verdict.

Host nation Poland got off to a winning start in Division IB in Tychy, but had to outlast a hard-working Estonian team that led the shot count 36-27 but was unable to find a goal in a 3-0 scoreline.
