It is soon time for the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship in Gothenburg! The tournament starts on the 26th of December, but before that, the participating nations are joining pre-camps and playing exhibition games. Take the chance to watch world-class ice hockey when the world’s best junior players plays around southern Sweden.
Between the 26th of December and the 5th of January, the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship will be played in the two arenas Frölundaborg and Scandinavium. For the players to be able to prepare themselves, they will join pre-camps in about two weeks before face off. The WJC-nations will conduct the pre-camps around southern Sweden.
In connection with the pre-camps, some exhibition games will also be played. Some of these games are certainly top games that you need to see. For example, on the 21st of December Sweden faces USA, the two nations who played for the bronze medal in the 2023 IIHF WJC. The two nations are facing each other in Catena Arena, in Ängelholm. On the 23rd of December, last year’s gold medalists, Canada, faces last year’s bronze medalists, USA. This game is played in Kungsbacka Ishall.
Sweden’s exhibition games will be broadcasted on SVT, Canada's games will be broadcasted on TSN and all other games will be broadcasted on Svensk Hockey TV. Below you can find a complete schedule for the exhibition games and links to where you can buy tickets for them.
