From May 14 to 30, 2027, Germany will become the center of international ice hockey.
In Düsseldorf, Mannheim, and Gelsenkirchen, the world’s best national teams will face off and compete for the title at the IIHF World Championship 2027TM, the world’s largest annual winter sports event.
And you can be a part of it! As a volunteer, you’ll be the heart and face of the IIHF World Championship 2027. You’ll join a motivated team that, with passion, professionalism, and true camaraderie, will ensure that this major event becomes an unforgettable experience for fans and athletes alike.

Our volunteers are the soul of the IIHF World Championship 2027. They are the ones who ensure that the tournament becomes a true Festival of Friendship. That’s why we’re looking for motivated, reliable, and sports-loving people who are ready to roll up their sleeves and eager to become part of the big ice hockey family.
Find your role
Whether in the lead-up to the tournament or during the event itself, there are many different areas where you can contribute your strengths, such as hospitality, transportation, or accreditation. Before you begin your assignment, you’ll receive a structured orientation along with all the necessary information and training so that you can confidently take on your role from the very start.

- You must be at least 18 years old by the time of your first assignment (as of May 1, 2027)
- You have an email address and a smartphone
- You’re willing to be on call for at least 7 days
- You’re reliably available during the time period you’ve chosen
- You’re open to taking on responsibility and stepping in flexibly when needed
- Experience in the event or sports industry is a plus, but not required
