Marketing & Communications Director

 
We are looking for a Marketing & Communications Director to join and lead our IIHF Marketing & Communication Department, preferably as of 1 March 2020, or by agreement. 

Key Responsibilities

The focus of this position is to ensure that the IIHF rights of property sold to agencies or sponsors and all other commercial partners are managed and delivered as agreed. This involves considerable liaison work with the IIHF commercial partners and agencies, the member national associations, the organising committees, TV companies and all sponsors and suppliers, including on-site servicing at IIHF events. 
 
This position is also responsible for coordinating all matters that involve commercial partners and TV companies and agencies. This position reports to the IIHF General Secretary.
 
Primary Duties
  • Develop and oversee the IIHF communications & marketing strategy
  • Develop new commercial properties
  • Management of the marketing & communications Staff and their assigned responsibilities
  • Attend and serve as a competence resource the IIHF Council Meetings
  • Attend and serve selected IIHF Committee Meetings
  • Create and oversee the budgets of marketing & communication projects
  • Develop and oversee budgets of various IIHF Committees with assigned staff members
  • Service the IIHF agency contracts, sponsor contracts, and supplier contracts for all IIHF activities
  • Conduct market research
  • Establish a good working relationship between the Organisers of a World Championship and the commercial partners, the TV production companies, sponsors and suppliers and new media/social media partners
  • Establish a good working relationship between the Member National Associations, their commercial partners, TV, sponsors and suppliers and media partners
  • Manage the organization, the structure, and the operation of the marketing & communication components of Olympic Winter Games Ice Hockey Tournaments
  • Represent the IIHF as a Technical Delegate at Olympic Winter Games and IIHF Championships
  • Initiate and manage the necessary regulations associated to the operation of the IIHF Competitions for the ease of TV, Marketing, and Communication Services
  • Review and approve suggested products for IIHF endorsement and negotiate contracts
  • Assist the official organising committees of championship with commercial matters on-site
  • Cooperate and work together with the other IIHF Directors to generate a common approach to all IIHF activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the IIHF General Secretary
   
Qualifications and Experiences
  • Excellent knowledge of sport marketing, communication and working experience in the Ice Hockey environment
  • Fluent in English; German and French language would be a benefit
  • Strong computer skills; fluency in all Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with IIHF stakeholders, structure and policies
  • Effective communicator on all levels; smooth interpersonal skills for interacting with the IIHF President, IIHF Council members, IIHF General Secretary, IIHF staff and IIHF stakeholders
  • Manage competing deadlines and efficiently balance priorities and own workload under pressure
  • Professionalism and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure over longer periods and at events
  • Exhibit exemplary politeness, discipline and tact while on the job; possess a bright and positive personality and attitude
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills with the ability to always maintain confidentiality and discretion

Technology Coordinator

 
The Technology Coordinator provides support and technical knowledge to both internal and external stakeholders. They must be knowledgeable in hardware, software, and networks. As end-user support and teamwork are important aspects of this position, excellent communication skills are expected.
 
This position assists and reports to the IIHF Technology Director in maintaining technology solutions. The IIHF would like this position to start as soon as possible but latest as of 1 February 2020. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Support to Users
    • Helpdesk ticket coordination
    • Troubleshooting and a firm grasp of computers is necessary for this role
    • 1st level support to users including Windows laptops and desktops, desk phones, mobile devices, peripherals such as printers, both in person and remotely
    • Responsible for computer, tablet, and smartphone provisioning, installs, and upgrades
    • Inventory management of software, hardware, licensing, and proper disposal of electronic assets
    • Maintain technology documentation for procedures, settings, installation sequences
    • Performing other duties, as requested by the Technology Director, which are related to this position and which meet the qualifications
  • Event Support
    • Travel to events and provide technology support to both users and system support
    • Plan, pack, and ship event-based technologies
    • Control inventory, storage, equipment testing
    • Emergency operations support as assigned
  • Deploy Technology
    • Deploy new technologies and revitalize current technology systems. This may include planning, cost analysis, ordering, testing, and training
  • Coordinating Projects
    • Coordination of various technology projects
    • Research technologies
    • Develop and execute plan timelines
    • Initiating and implementing improvements in all areas of technology responsibility
  
Qualifications and Experiences
  • Proven experience as a Technology Coordinator or similar role
  • Technical knowledge and attitude for technology concepts
  • Enjoys assisting others with patience and courtesy
  • Passionate about technology and up to date on industry trends
  • Ability to resolve network issues
  • Expertise in Microsoft products specialty Office 365
  • Expertise in configuring Apple and Android devices
  • Expertise in Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy management an asset
  • High sense of responsibility attention to detail
  • Fluency in English and German
  • Willingness to travel and work irregular hours
  • Interest to work in a fast changing, dynamic international environment

Assistant to the IIHF Technology Director

 
This position reports to the IIHF Technology Director and assists in maintaining technology solutions. The IIHF would like this position to start as soon as possible but latest as of 1 February 2020. 

The Assistant acts as the interface between other IIHF departments and 3rd party service providers (external). Capable of managing and prioritizing multiple time sensitive projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, the position includes the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people (internal and external stakeholders) paired with exceptional organizational skills. It requires also the ability to make decisions and adapt to changing work situations and apply new ideas.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assists the IIHF Technology Director in coordinating projects, meetings and business travel
  • Plan, organize, guide, control and evaluate the operations of information systems and electronic data processing for IIHF technology strategic policies for all related operations and their New Media initiatives 
  • Supports data management in the new media project in collaboration with Solution Partners
  • Performing other duties, as requested by the Technology Director, which are related to this position and which meet the qualifications initiating and implementing improvements in all areas of technology responsibility 
  • Supports all projects in regards of IIHF Technology Partner implementation 2019 onward in the IIHF technology area 
 
Qualifications and Experiences
  • Fluency in English and German
  • Knowledge in Project Management 
  • Computer skills; fluency in all Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
