2020 World Juniors get ready

Ostrava native Petr Mrazek, who won the Best Goaltender award at the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship, inspired the organizers for the logo of the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship in the Czech Republic.

On Wednesday the Czech organizing committee of the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship presented the logo for the event that will be hosted in Ostrava and Trinec in the east of the country. At the same time the bilingual website 2020.worldjuniors.hockey was launched.

The world will be looking to western Canada soon as Vancouver and Victoria will host the next World Juniors between 26th December 2018 and 5th January 2019. At the same time the Czech organizers prepare for next year’s event as the groups will be known following the gold medal game in Vancouver. The ten-team event next year will include the nine best countries from Vancouver and Victoria as well as Germany as the promoted team.

The 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship will take place from 26th December 2019 to 5th January 2020 in Ostrava and Trinec. The new logo features an Ostrava native, Petr Mrazek, who was named best goaltender at the 2012 World Juniors.

Tickets for the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship will be sold in several phases, the first one is expected to start in spring 2019.
