The 2026 IIHF Semi-Annual Congress started in Tenerife on Wednesday 30 October 2026, and among the early decisions was the allocation of several events for the upcoming 2026/27 season. These include:

IIHF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2027 DIVISION I, GROUP B
Group A: Japan, Korea, Spain / Group B: China, Romania, Netherlands
Host: Targu Mures, Romania, 1-7 May 2027
Note: Round robin plus semi-finals and medal games

IIHF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2027 DIVISION II, GROUP A
Participants: Croatia, Serbia, UA Emirates, Belgium, Australia, Georgia, Israel
Host: Al Ain, UA Emirates (dates TBD)
Note: The seven teams will play a round robin (six games each)

IIHF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2027 DIVISION II, GROUP B
Participants: New Zealand, Bulgaria, Iceland, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye
Host: Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan (dates TBD)
Note: The five teams will play a round robin (four games each).

IIHF WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2027 DIVISION III, GROUP B
Participants: Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Israel, South Africa, Philippines, Singapore, Iran, India, Belarus
Host: Sofia, Bulgaria (dates TBD)
Note: The tournament format will be three groups of three playing a round-robin, followed by a playoffs (semi-finals and medal games).

IIHF U18 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2027 DIVISION III, GROUP B
Participants: Thailand, New Zealand, Iceland, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Host: Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, 13-19 February 2027
Note: The four teams will play a round robin (three games each)

IIHF U18 WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2027 DIVISION I, GROUP A
Group A: Finland, Norway, Denmark / Group B: Japan, France, China
Host: Vierumaki, Finland, 18-24 January 2027
Note: Round robin plus semi-finals and medal games
